Thanks for the articleand update Larry. I take issue with this statement, "the ability of neurons to change their behavior according to the timing of input signals -- had never before been implemented in neural nets. " because they have. Although whether they took place in speech recognition is something I don't know about. If this does pan out, that will mean we should see a whole lot of voice-actuated devices (wasdhing machines, tvs, vcrs, watches, etc. to take advantage of it. Any future refernce you might come across about a publicly traded company that is acquiring or licensing their work would be of great interest to me...
