Tony,

I wish for once these talking heads would sit down and talk with a tech-minded person before writing this drivel. I have had this on my wish list for years.

How much time does this guy actually spend on his computer? My guess is slim to nil. If he really had the vision of what the future will look like, there would be no way(IMHO) one could ever be bearish on INTC, CSCO, MSFT, or AMAT, at least not for the forseeable future. The potential for all of these companies is enormous, and yet there will be people selling on Monday morning because of what some journalist said.

Re: "HP server chips will be Intel chips, IA-64, at least after PA-RISC 8000's run out of gas (Intel foundries them anyway).
Sun admits they are no match for Intel or AMD in microprocessor design. Their current flagship SPARC, that powers their top of line server, E10000, (as many as 64 in a box) runs at 450 MHz.
IBM will use IA-64, and Power PC, and proprietary mainframe chips, depending on the product line. They are not even faithful to their own semi division. It's all about business and making money. They'll use IA by the millions."

Tony,

Thanks for your thoughts on the Server market. Subtle points, yet significant.
