A stock (any stock) has to keep making new highs.
In MU's case, MU has to beat 85.
Hal indicates that if 85 is not bettered by Oct 15, 1999,
then everyone will know that this dram shortage is history.
Yes ! the stock of MU has been up due to Dram going from
$4 to $20, but that is history.
The more important question is will spot dram prices continue to rise from $20 ???
The stock action of MU is telling Hal that the major trend
is now DOWN ! Hal indicates that the test of 85 will fail.

Contract prices for the 64M are now 9.25 to 10.00. Compaq
pays the lower of those prices. Significant capacity can't
come on in a 4-to-6 week time frame. We're now at the
early stage of a three-year boom for semiconductors,
including DRAM. With MU's incremental cost decreasing to
$3.50, they'll make at least 0.62 in the current quarter.
I'll bet that they'll exceed the growing consensus of
$4.00 for FY00.

I've been off the board for some time and have just been reading again over the past couple of weeks. Could someone please either re-post "the scenario" or post a message number reference such that I can better understand the current thread/discussion.

Thanks in advance,

Jim
