I failed to follow you. Now I am confused, I thought all these years that JD bought it going too fast on Mulholland Drive in a 1957 Porche Speedster.

The 1950 Merc is a very famous vee-hickle. George Barris was, I believe, the first one to chop the top. They call 'em lowriders now.
A young man named Boyd Coddington was commissioned by a guy named Billy Gibbons to make a 'lowrider'. Money no object. Boyd, who is about the best there is at this kind of thing, started by cutting up an old mint condition Cadillac. I tried to find a picture of the car, but I couldn't.

You would really like it. It's called 'Cadzilla'.
