Rating: BUY Change: None 12-Mo. Target: $80

Shares of Tellabs have been weak in recent sessions as continued concerns regarding Cisco's acquisition of Cerent, new concerns surrounding Motorola's acquisition of General Instrument, numerous negative rumors and a general softness in telecom technology shares has undermined the stock. Our recent checks with management and other sources indicated that Tellabs' near and long term fundamental remain intact. We continue to believe the shares should represent a core long term holding in any technology portfolio and that the current price softness represents one of the occasional opportunities to buy TLAB shares at particularly attractive prices.
