Problems like those with the 810 can and do happen to everyone. The reason for my posting on this subject is to suggest that there may be a serious problem with the manufacturing and test flow with Rdram if sufficient testing on individual components cannot be done to guarantee that they work when placed together in a system. Perhaps the Rambus technology just doesn't have enough margin to allow testers which need their own guardbanding to over test enough to ensure the dut meets spec. Might have a fundamental problem here.
