You really only need to treat the sound card as another source on your stereo. Use whatever auxiliary jacks are available, except PHONO. The sound card should have software that you install in the computer, which will give you an expanded control panel whereby you can adjust the levels out/in, etc. Other than that, I'm not sure what else you need. Do you have the manual for the card? They are available at Creative's site, if you don't.

Are you trying to use your computer to play music from your stereo? Or are you trying to use your stereo to play music/sounds from your computer?

Which jacks on the back of the sound card are you using? Are they input or output jacks?
