HONG KONG, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Hong Kong's Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) said it had received 14 applications to operate local wireless fixed networks and 34 applications to provide external telecommunications facilities. OFTA said it intends to complete the evaluation of the licence applications before the end of 1999.

The announcement was made in a statement issued after applications closed earlier on Thursday.

The following companies have applied for local wireless fixed networks licences:

2. Global One Communications Ltd - a joint venture among Deutsche Telekom DTEG.F, France Telecom FTEP.PA and Sprint Corp FON.N

6. Hongkong Multimedia Ltd

7. LinkAGE Online Ltd

8. NEXTLINK Hong Kong Ltd

9. Onelink Communications Ltd

10. Pacific Satellite International Ltd
