Stew,

Great post! Thanks for taking the time to summarize a couple years worth of discussion!

Gemstar is deploying its IPG interface application in ...

You bring me smack dab into the middle of the quandry about determining where the product is in the adoption life cycle. If it is in the tornado, Gemstar's revenues don't show it with the exception of the sequential blip of the most recent Q4 revenue. Yet I infer from Bruce's post that it might not be such an aggregious error to accidentally misjudge the start of the tornado. And the more I think about tekboy's and everyone's development of the theory of perceptual gaming, I'm leaning more and more toward increasing my investment in the Gem before a ruling or settlement. There's a LOT more perceptual importance than fundamental importance to the settlements in my opinion.

So.........

Frank, if you're in between sales meetings, my answer to your question about Gemstar posed a day or two ago is that I really don't know exactly where the product is in the adoption life cycle. More important, being absolutely sure of that is not as important to my investing decisions today as it was yesterday, thanks to the great discussions and facts brought to light in the folder this weekend.

And since you're our leader, I'll do a high-five and a Go Niners too!
