Interesting point. "Presidents know just as much as they want to know." Excellent, if true. I suppose there's really no excuse for relying on the CIA and the State Department for briefings, one could always set up lines of communication with academics and intellectuals from all over the world ~ but one would have to be such a greasy grind, and it wouldn't be nearly as much fun as playing golf and dining with Barbara Streisand, would it?
