Just don't patent the bone thrower, Steve. You may end up winning the Ig Nobel Prize. I read it today that this years winner was a man who invented a machine (I hope Herc is not a Obstetrician) to help deliver babies.
It worked like that:
He would strap the woman on labor to a wheel. The wheel would spin very fast and the centrifugal force would help deliver -in this case expel, since the force would be like 7G!!!!- the baby.

Can'ty you buy a second hand tennis ball thrower and adapt to 'spit' bones instead?

The story is in the www.sv.com
