Thanks Hatim.
BTW I see that you are still working for us,
on your "day off".... I believe that we all appreciate
that.

Sorry to see that we weren't around to help, in 1993.
Anyway, at that time I had very little to invest and it
was completely tied up in a small startup company called
Cascade Communications .. now a part of Lucent Technologies.
Good things can happen. :-)

Regarding your remark " the deal with Philips did not distinguish between ETSI BRAN and the IEEE802.11a and is a applicable worldwide. " .....
I take that to mean that Wi-Lan will benefit from any
products or ASICS that Philips produces, as long as they
are based on W-ODFM.

I find it interesting, and a hopeful sign, that Philips is in fact a European company.

As far as the Philips / Wi-Lan video distribution effort,
I think that you may want to consider the possibility
of integrating this Video Technology into the new Home Automation and Home / Business security systems that use X-10 control technology; with remote (proximity, motion,
heat, etc.) sensors.
These sensors all connect to the main control unit via
RF interfaces.

It seems to me that your technology could feed video
from the "effected area" into the control unit.
This would allow the monitoring facility to see live
video as well as a graphic representation of the alarm
conditions.
The more sophisticated control units are essentially a modified PC, with (I believe) a RS-232 monitor port.
I would think that your video input would probably
feed into this unit via a USB port.

You may want to take a quick look (on your day off - LOL) at
x10.com

Gotta go.
Best wishes,

Mardy.
