As soon as there was a free and fair election, they were gone.

I didn't realize that Communists were capable of holding a free and fair election.

The only issue contested in that election was whether people wanted the war to continue or to stop. Naturally, they wanted it to stop.

If Somoza had held a free and fair election, with Ortega the opposing candidate, who do you think would have won?
