C3D Multi-layer Fluorescent Disk & Card Technology The three-dimensional optical data storage drives and media to be demonstrated utilize our revolutionary patented multi-layer fluorescent disc and card technology, developed over the past decade by our international team of specialists in laser technology, physics, chemistry and computer science. The technology includes:  Multipurpose fluorescent media meeting all current optical data storage-related technological requirements & standards stems, including for implementations of the technology in a device containing over 40 layers. This includes numerous patented ?thin replica? and hot embossing technologies required to create a multi-layered data-carrying structure within the storage media.  Multi-focal optical equipment capable of reading fluorescent RF signals simultaneously from multiple layers.  Drives that operate with very low power semiconductor lasers. The technology takes advantage of physical properties such as the superior signal contrast and signal-to-noise ratio of fluorescent incoherent light over that of coherent light (employed in current reflective optical data storage devices) to create multi-layer devices with:  Large data storage capacity - Because the technology enables data to be stored on multiple layers within a media - instead of on a maximum of just two using current techniques - thereby greatly increasing the storage capacity of the media (see below).  Fast data access - The ability to read simultaneously from these layers permits much faster data access rates compared with current media.  Low cost per Gigabyte ? Our advanced technology and related manufacturing processes permit production of high capacity storage media at very low cost per Gigabyte. Upgrade of existing CD, DVD & MO production facilities Producers of current reflective optical data storage drives and discs can adopt our technology with only minimal adjustment to their facilities - adapting existing ?thin replica? & hot-embossing technologies, existing film materials and technological equipment for data carrier manufacturing. Along with reading the new Fluorescent Multi-layer Discs, the upgraded drives will also to be able to read CDs and DVDs, thereby ensuring full backward compatibility. The ClearCard-ROM & ClearCard-WORM The Fluorescent Multi-layer ClearCard represents a breakthrough in optical data storage technology - its patented multi-focal optical system, fluorescent multi-layer technology and proprietary error encoding algorithms (10-12) resulting in very simple operation of this credit card sized device that will have no rotating parts. The multi-layer technological capabilities of the Card makes it unique among flash memory data storage devices and give it virtually unlimited information density potential. Combined with the Card?s advanced optical design, this makes it significantly cheaper to produce, as a function of storage capacity, than current flash memory card devices. The ClearCard WORM (Write Once - Read Many) is a development of the ClearCard ROM which enables the user to select information to be stored. Writing and reading are performed using a powerful semiconductor pulse laser. The ClearCard-ROM and the The ClearCard WORM, like the Fluorescent Multi-layer Disk, facilitate parallel reading from multiple layers, resulting in an extremely high data transfer rate. In the future - Fluorescent Multi-layer Disk & Card RAM RAM versions of both disk and card are scheduled for industrial production within 18 months. Demonstration models and industrial production Fluorescent Multi-layer Disc ROM This will consist of a multi-layer fluorescent disc & related drive unit. The demo disk will be in a standard (120mm) CD format with up to 10 layers. Within 6 months, we plan to extend the process capability to work with the smaller-wavelength blue and violet (as opposed to the current red) fluorescence ranges, with a 5GB (i.e. DVD-equivalent) disc capacity. Within 12 months, at the scheduled commencement of industrial production, we plan to produce a 120mm 10-layer disc with 140 Gigabyte capacity ? giving it the capacity to store up to 20 hours of compressed HDTV film viewing. Fluorescent Multi-layer ClearCard-ROM This will consist of a fluorescent multi-layer card and related drive unit. The demo ClearCard-ROM will have up to 10 layers of data, be read using current red LED or laser light and have a capacity greatly in excess of the leading available card-based data storage products currently available. Within 12 months, at the scheduled commencement of industrial production, we plan to produce a credit card-sized ClearCard-ROM with up to 20 layers, 400 MB/cm2 data density and up to 10GB capacity ? i.e. twice current single-sided DVD capacity, but at a fraction of the cost and size. Fluorescent Multi-layer ClearCard-WORM (Write Once - Read Many) This will consist of a fluorescent multi-layer card and related drive unit. The demo ClearCard-WORM will have up to 10 layers of data. Within 12 months, at the scheduled commencement of industrial production, we plan to produce a credit card-sized ClearCard-WORM with up to 10 layers and up to 1GB capacity
