Hardly totalitarian- intelligence (imo) needs to be focused productively for society. Not "needs" in some moral sense- because I do not believe in right and wrong, or good and evil- or anything else along those lines. "Needs" in terms of what is useful for society. The more educated people are (usually) the more tolerant they become- after all it is difficult to be tolerant when you are unaware of the myriad possibilities that exist in the world. I don't care whether people self-educate or formally educate- but the more educated people are, the more I like them. Ignorance is awful- to ME.
