Steve:

Regarding Level III quotes (or actually, the instinet book), I agree that this would be a very valuable tool to have. I didn't see anything on the marketcompass website, though. If you call them, could you pass along any information you find to the thread? Sounds interesting...

Thanks,
-Eric

Tony Oz asked me to pass some information along [...] "You can get (subscribe) to Level III, which is nothing more than the INCA book [...]"

From the NASDAQ Glossary at nasdaqnews.com --

"Level 3 Service : Consists of Level 2 Service plus the ability to enter quotations, direct/execute orders, and send information; this service is restricted to NASD member firms that function as registered Market Makers in either Nasdaq, exchange-listed, or OTC Bulletin Board securities."

The meaning of "Level 3" has been the same for years. I doubt that it changed this week.

Steve:

I noticed a change today in The Executioner version of the Real Tick III program. They have now incorporated the entire ISLD book into the Level II display, just as they do for the ARCA book. It caught me by surprise today, but I think it's a great addition.

I believe you use MB Trading. Have they always had this fully integrated ISLD book in their Level II, or was it added today, or do you still not have it? Just wondering, I would assume this is a new Townsend Analytics feature that all RT3 firms have, but was curious if others are also seeing this change. (Anyone using other RT3 firms notice this change today?)

In any case, I think it's a very helpful feature. I haven't tested to ensure that it also displays subscriber only orders, although I'm virtually certain that these orders are now shown on Level II. => A big help in fast moving markets.
