Looks good from here. Uniphase was never strong on the receiver end (the source, modulator and pump areas being their strengths), so this should tie in very well. Looking forward to more details today.

Interesting how the Japanese interests in opto-electronics companies keep cropping up. Prior to the merger, JDS Fitel's principal shareholder with more than a 50% position (name escapes me now--don't have the annuals or merger proxies here) was a Japanese conglomerate which had in recent quarters prior to the merger reduced its position to under 50%. I suspect it is JDSU's principal stockholder. Kent, Pat, Bulldozer--do any of you hear of much innovation in optical networking or optoelectronics coming from Japan?
