PacBell and SBC don't get it. BellSouth and WCOM obviously do.

One minor point of detail. PacBell is owned by SBC, not BLS.

Bell South Mobility is having a very rough time in TN due ti GTE and CellOne CDMA being priced better and having better conerage and having beter voice quality. They just bought the wrong system and are too small to pull an AT&T move. I suspect they have similar problems in the Carolinas. I think they are faced with either expanding in CDMA or getting run out of the business and possibly giving away their TDMA system. They don't have much time to react because the whole world is changing around them. They are a good candidate for the rumored ERICY market of overlaying CDMA on TDMA networks.
