I still don't understand how these rumored and now actual (H&Q) numbers of 25 cents for the quarter fit with MER's report from a few weeks back.

Namely, MER's analyst reported KP having said, at a MER conference in mid-September, that the 37 average estimate was "a couple of pennies too aggressive." Either one or the other is true. Not both.

Jake: you are right in that the PE at this time based on the earnings as we see them is low, however,until there is some greater earnings visibility going forward, the PE won't drastically change. Downward earnings revisions, for whatever reason, are never healthy. IMHO, however, these revisions are backward looking, and hopefully there will be upward revisions in the near future, starting with the earnings report.
