Sanyo Elec has smallest CDMA mobile phone

TOKYO, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Sanyo Electric Co Ltd said on Monday that it has developed the world's smallest, thinnest code division multiple access (CDMA) format portable phone.

The Japanese electronics maker said in a statement that it plans to commercialise this new product, weighing only 57 grams and only 9.9 millimetres thick.

It achieves its small size while remaining sturdy by using an aluminium alloy on the front cabinet, it said

MSM is a Qualcomm trademark. ASIC is the generic term.

Legal papers may already be "on their way" to you, for using the term "MSM" in the same sentence as Samsung.
