Last week I mention I brought IOM. So I thought I should tell the trend I just sold it. Had a very strange execution. I put a limit of 11/16, the current bid, 70% got executed immediately. The remaining 30% took 6 minutes to execute. All during the interval real-time quotes informed me shares where bid at 11/16, in quantity to easily take out the remaining portion of my order. I just don't know why it took another 6 minutes to finish my order. The stock market internal operations often leave me scratching my head. Anyone know a good book that explains exactly how an order gets routed, executed, and confirmed back to the trader?
