LP:

I personally have no use for level 3 or whatever the service that the PSE member (market maker for options on 8-10 stocks on the PSE) referred to. HE CALLED IT level 3. I don't personally know, nor do I care. I did see screen shots which had significantly more info than level 2. This guy WAS NOT selling anything and had no axe to grind. He doesn't sell anything (systems, trading classes, etc.). He is a floor trader who makes markets in options. Whatever this system is called (he also referred to it as "the box") does offer (according to him) a "dead terminal" (his words) for $200 per month (his number).

To me, the issue is a moot point as that internet direct access order entry is not as quick or reliable as the sellers of the platforms would have us to believe. I would prefer to use different strategies that don't require my "instant" access. If you are what NASDAQ refers to a "market professional" (as opposed to us lowly traders who simply trade as a profession), you are no doubt familiar with "the box". Perhaps you could clarify what that is and give us some details as to how it differs from what you call "level 3". Sorry for any confusion.

Matt
