The high cost of government is the reason that people are having to work more hours. That survey fails to state that the extra hours Americans are working are worked just to pay the extra taxes that have been imposed at all levels of government. People are struggling to keep up with the burden of government. The total US tax burden is at an historic high in both absolute and % terms. It is little wonder that care-giving parents are forced into part-time jobs as they seek to maintain their standard of loving as government takes an ever-expanding share of their resources. This study is a clarion call to cut the peoples' taxes and let them enjoy the fruits of their labor.
