Check Point Software/Nokia VPN Appliance
Named Worldwide Market Share Leader in New
Infonetics Study

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--Oct. 5, 1999--Nokia (NYSE:NOK - news) and Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.
(Nasdaq:CHKP - news) today announced that the jointly developed Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution is leading
the dedicated VPN appliance market. According to independent data by Infonetics Research, Inc. of San Jose, the
Nokia/Check Point Software solution has earned a solid industry leadership position with market share that is almost three
times that of any other vendor.

``Check Point Software Technologies with Nokia hardware has carved out the revenue leadership position in the
dedicated VPN hardware market,' said Michael Howard, Principal Analyst and Founder of Infonetics Research, Inc.
``The VPN market is undergoing tremendous growth, and we see Nokia/Check Point well positioned to remain a leader
in the future.'

The Nokia/Check Point appliance integrates Check Point Software's market-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1 software with
Nokia's comprehensive IP routing functions on specially designed hardware to deliver the industry's most powerful and
secure Internet connectivity solutions.

``The continued growth of the mobile workforce and the explosion in e-commerce have both increased security challenges
for enterprises and service providers,' said Don Jaworski, vice president and general manager, Nokia IP Routing.
``Additionally, service providers are offering options for managed services and application hosting solutions. This need is
driving demand for simple, plug and play security appliances that offer top notch security and scalability. Nokia's success
in the VPN market reflects the appeal of our simple and cost-effective Internet security appliances.'

The Nokia/Check Point appliance is designed for both corporate and remote office deployments. It is the ideal solution
for offices that need Internet access, but lack the on-site expertise to administer and manage a comprehensive security
policy. With the Nokia/Check Point appliance, all security and operating software is installed and pre-configured for rapid
VPN deployment. The appliance is managed centrally, enabling VPN functionality to be integrated with the overall
network security policy and effectively administered from a single console. The Nokia/Check Point appliance supports
both site-to-site and client-to-site VPN deployments. SecuRemote VPN client software for end-user systems is available
at no additional charge.

``We are pleased to be recognized by Infonetics as the worldwide market leader,' said Asheem Chandna, vice president
of marketing and business development for Check Point Software Technologies. ``The jointly developed Nokia/Check
Point appliances are an important component of our Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture that uniquely secures
networks, systems, applications and users.'
