Second thought is I'm wondering
why Merq's stock has beaten the bejeezsus out of Ratl's
current stock price.

My take is that (1) this is a small time frame over which MERQ has surged, and that (2) RATL is not done competing in this e-commerce testing market. Let's see how things look in a year (and I certainly hope RATL continues to perform as well as in the past).

Peter,
first, thanks a lot for reposting the CSFB research note. There has not been much news about RATL lately, the IBM and MSFT linkups are already "old" news... with long term very positive impacts, IMO...

And secondly, I agree with Randy: As I understand, MERQ is in a different product category and not competing head-to-head with RATL.

I continue to like RATL very much, and I firmly hold the shares. I continue to think that they are very well positioned for the future... OOP software development is a high-growth market... It's not a rocket type of stock, but a very good business, IMO. I expect them to deliver good results for 09/99, otherwise they would probably have pre-announced by now.

kind regards,
Thomas
