Gold lease rates have been as high as 11%. Look for them to go higher if the breakout to $330 happens. Maybe they'll settle at 7.5% but even at 5% they are too high to allow for profit in leasing.

1980 is when gold peaked and by 1980 standards, gold is presently only $157 an ounce. Silver's just over $2.75. I believe the rally has a ways to go. The supply/demand fundamentals are improved since then.
