Brian, Duker, Kirk, and JHY,

SI may have no choice but to turn over personal info to comply with a court order, but I would agree that they should at least inform a user before doing so. I suggest that you guys express your opinions directly to the webmistress as well as here on the thread.

Well, you are "the press" and the First and 14th protect you against the laws that authorize a court to subpoena you. If you guys are unable to hire a lawyer then you'll have to lurk. I don't blame you. But were my records subpoenad, I would be happy to sue the bad guys. Even the Republicans on the Supreme Court are fanatically free speech.
