It's a good speech, but it's raw meat for the masses. He hits the high points for his known audience ~

- he talks about the Founding Fathers, which is a way of demonstrating the venerableness of his opinions.

- the reference to the "experiments" is code-speech for the Religious Right, who believe that God intended America to be an experiment for working his will.

- he quote Plutarch, which is a way of demonstrating that his opinions are not only venerable, but universal among the educated.

- he slams the Washington elite.

- he slams government regulation, for the businessmen.

- he says the Republican party supports Social Security, for the older voter.

- he slams socialized medicine, for the doctors.

- he slams liberal "do-gooders."

And so forth. I could go on and on, but I won't. Either you see what I mean, or you don't. It's a clever speech, but it's a tricky speech, and he tells lies to appeal to the listener. As a for instance, the following excerpt is pure bunkum, although it sounds nice.

We are faced with the most evil enemy mankind has known in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. There can be no security anywhere in the free world if there is no fiscal and economic stability within the United States.

Taxes and the welfare state the "most evil enemy mankind has known his long climb from the swamp to the stars"????

Exactly the kind of thing that appeals to Republicans. LOL!
