I am not in favor of divorce, particularly when people have children. And Reagan did not spend enough time with his children after the divorce. His children have complained about it, even though they support him now. I have no criticism of his relationship with Nancy, but his children with Nancy thought he didn't spend enough time with them, either.

Calling his kid a Schmuck - to the point the kid thought it was a pet name- is appalling.

bp, I've noticed you don't seem incensed when someone takes a public stance on an issue and their private life contradicts it. But you can accept that some find this distasteful, can't you? Reagan's kids didn't like him, so much so that Patty and Michael almost made a career out of bashing him and his policies, in public.

On the bright side, yeah, Reagan was a hypocrite but at least he isn't as bad as Warren Beatty!! (who has transformed into a pro-lifer in case anyone is interested..)
