Thanks, I hope I have conveyed an adequate sense of it. Also, thanks for the ratification, since everyone should see it. I like the analogy<VBG>....

I saw the best movie- Twenty Bucks. I don't know how I missed it when it first came out- it has a huge impressive cast (Elizabeth Shue, Steve Buscemi, William H Macy, Brendan Frasier, Christopher Lloyd, Linda Hunt, David Schwimmer, Spaulding Gray- and MORE).

Great acting, great writing- I really recommend it.

I also saw Maborosi- weird moody but very beautiful, Japanese movie. Each shot is a work of art- but there is not much story. So ANYONE seeking things like plot (or God forbid- action) will be bored out of their skull. My husband wandered off after the first 10 minutes. I braced myself with a can of Pringles and watched the whole dang movie- but I must admit I got bored with the beauty after about 45 minutes. It was pure cussedness (and the thought that something might happen at the very end- but it doesn't) that made me actually see it through to the end.
