Paul, Re: the most extensive being the 0.18 micron front end used on the AthFLOP processor.

FLOP??, then why the flap?? I have not seen you so worried for decades.

Welcome your inputs.

REYousef's orignal point was that AMD's 300 MHz process - on their
original 0.25 micron process - wouldn't get much higher in speed.

And YOUSEF WAS RIGHT !

AMD has made at least TWO MAJOR process changes since that time,
the most extensive being the 0.18 micron front end used on the
AthFLOP processor"....:"

Please, excuse me while I roll on the floor laughing. Yousef said AMD would never get over 300 MHz on any process. I admit that Yousef needs to relearn PROCESS evolution! <G>

LOL Paul. What in the world are you talking about.

Yousef claimed to know everything about AMD's process. He had predictions after predictions. K6 would not pass 300 MHz, K7 sweet spot will be at 450 MHz at best. On and on and on.

He has been dead wrong. No question about it.

We all make wild as* guesses here. But when you declare yourself a know it all expert, call every one stupid/loser for one reason or another, you better make very accurate predictions. Yousef's simply has not done so, not even close.

Yousef is not the only one here making wrong guesses. I think pretty much every one has from time to time. But yousef is getting criticized for his due to his arrogance, uncivil and simply childish attitude.

Regards,

Mani
