Len,
<<The question was not ethnicity (what is Judaism without a G*d?), the question was whether Israel is a Jewish State or not. >>
What I am trying to say is, they ask if you are Jewish for citizenship not if you are reform, conservative or orthodox. Not that it is not a place that does not love God, that is individual. I have friends that are not Jewish and are citizens as well as many Arabs.
I do not think America should be labeled as a Christian State. The morals are totally gone and there is so much violence that if Christianity is the main religion it is not producing the fruit of such.
<<America also has it's blemishes to be sure, but do two wrongs make a right?>>
Of course 2 wrongs do not make a right but one wrong is being dwelled upon and the other hidden or excused out of hypocrisy. The problems in Israel are bigger than what we can understand here and our media is not as accurate as it should be. I have friends that live there and are much more reliable for information than most of what we get here. The bottom line is people are people wherever you go. There are bad and good and should be judged on their own merit. My husband and I have been mostly offended here by the clumping of people together for judgement.
