If all of this seems like a great deal of trouble, think what's at stake. We are faced with the most evil enemy mankind has known in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. There can be no security anywhere in the free world if there is no fiscal and economic stability within the United States. Those who ask us to trade our freedom for the soup kitchen of the welfare state are architects of a policy of accommodation.

I stand by my interpretation....

Ah, the idea of old Ronnie curled up on the floor with a pine knot hissing on the hearth while he reads his dog-eared Plutarch and ponders the deep questions of human liberty warms the cockles of my heart. Wasn't he a New Dealer when he was a kid? Shouldn't he have been reading some collectivist literature? Like old FDR speeches? Or Marx's Das Kapital?. What is this stuff about Ronnie applying for but being rejected for the CP-USA? Why wouldn't they let him in?
