Texas Instruments to Buy Power Trends, which Bloomberg says is the largest semiconductor maker for cell phones. Finally, some direction as to where TI is going in the industry.

The THS6032 draws from the low-voltage supply and can reduce power consumption to 1.3 Watts on a full-rate 25-ohm ADSL line by automatically switching to the higher voltage power supply when needed.

Holy grail is 1 Watt/line. Eighty percent smaller too! Wow.
