<States should make owners get a commercial license to drive one.> Maybe so, I am surprised that more people are not concerned about what people can drive with just a class A license, being as some vehicles require extra skill and know- how to safely operate. For instance, two years ago, I helped a relative move to Connecticut from Utah. I rented the largest Penske truck available and put a car trailer with a (heavy) Jaguar on the back. I already had some experience driving larger vehicles from working for UPS, so I somewhat knew what to expect. I faced so many situations such as near misses by speedy cars cutting me off, also snowy roads, narrow bridges, a transmission that went hay-wire, etc. I still marvel that all they ask of people is a valid Class A license to drive something like that while much smaller commercial vehicles require a CDL.
