Here's an observation in Andrew Serwer's Street Life column:

And this: "What am I missing about this
semiconductor industry. Most of the major
players here in the USA are off maybe 10% or
more, while TSM (Taiwan Semi) is off only
5%.Where was the earthquake? Hello! My
sources in Taiwan say that things won't be up to
normal for many months, I mean MANY months.
And then they, according to SF Examiner,
'make only 10% of the world's chip-making
capacity (huh?) and about 80% of the
motherboards.' Hello! Sell DELL, not INTEL, who
by the way gets NO chips from Taiwan.
Someone has got to get the truth out here.

Serwer's probably the best business writer out there. You can subscribe to his daily email at the Fortune website.
Well worth the inside info/gossip/opinion.
