Klaus,

The Mcabb brothers bet the wrong way on Dell during one of its fastest growth periods. They were doing three things: i) shorting the stock ii) buying puts iii) trying to talk the stock down on SI. Rumour is that they LOST close to $50.M

As Kemble says, Never bet against Dell. Unless of course you want to make a small fortune...from a big fortune!

No Hank is alive and well. By the way, he was selling naked calls. While he was wrong on DELL, he has been right on many other trades. One can't get them right all the time. I like his strategy of selling naked calls, let the market pay you to go short (much like selling puts to go long) as long as there is a reason to do it, last year everything was going DELLs way, it was a bad time to do it. He was one year too soon.
