TMAC: RE:< individual stock picking ... a mine field, your bound to end up picking a bad one >

Heard that comment and I too immediately concluded he was implying UTEK as the example. But he hasn't changed his recommendation on this stock for a long time and occasionally has expressed hope for an earnings turnaround (year 2000-2001) in response to infrequent questions for callers.

Personally, I took a tax loss on UTEK last fall when it was $15 per share and never reinvested - no regrets. Guess if you're patient, UTEK might pay off some day and with so much cash, how much lower could it go. If I were to buy it again, (JMHO) I'd be looking for an entry point when the market is a "raging buy".

Brinker has always had a policy to not recommend individual stocks on the radio program because of his inability to provide follow-up advice between shows. It's unclear whether or not he will ever provide new individual stock recommendations in his newsletter. At current high P/E Ratio valuations he seems reluctant to add new recommendations - even on his recent appearance on the Nightly Business Report he avoided making any new stock recommendations. Besides, Brinker has often has said "he's a mutual fund kinda guy".

I just covered my short position on UTEK based on my TA. I was just wondering if Bob thought UTEK was still a good long term hold.
