Sprint accepts $77 billion bid from MCI - Sources
New York, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Sprint Corp (NYSE:FON - news) , the second-largest long-distance telephone company in the U.S., on Monday night accepted a $77 billion takeover bid from number three rival MCI WorldCom Inc.(NasdaqNM:WCOM - news), according to financial and industry sources.

The deal, which is expected to be announced early on Tuesday, came together after MCI WorldCom sweetened its earlier $65 billion offer following a rival bid from regional Bell company, BellSouth Corp.(NYSE:BLS - news) , the sources said.

Slacker: Thanks, I was looking a few weeks back after noting a QCOM patent filing. engineer was most helpful then and this now appears to be more than I need to know or can understand. Good thing I have a few slow days coming to peruse it in print form. Thanks again.
