here is the accumulation/distribution rating system from ibd. "it uses a proprietary formula to analyze each stocks daily price and volume changes in the latest 13 weeks to determine if the stock has been under net accumulation(buying) or distribution(selling). a and b ratings indicate heavy to moderate buying, c shows a neutral balance of buying and selling, d and e indicate moderate to heavy selling. since institutions exert the largest influence on many stocks' price and volume, an a or b rating may indicate buying by institutional investors"
ibd is an excellent newspaper for stock info. the founder william o'neil has also written a book "how to make money in stocks" it is a very good fundamental book on stock trading. i have read it 3 or 4 times and still refer to it on a regular basis.
hope this helps charlie

Jimbos,

There should be a key at the top of the stocks page on IBD that tells you exactly how the Accum/Dist rating is calculated. I also have an IBD handbook somewhere that I'll check when I get home tonight.

Have a good day out there!
