Intel hires two new technology executives

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 4 (Reuters) - Intel Corp., the world's largest computer chip maker, said on Monday it hired two new executives to fill two newly-created positions, including a chief technology officer for the company's new business group.

Intel said that it has hired Dalibor Vrsalovic, 51, who was previously vice president of Internet technology at AT&T Corp., (NYSE:T - news) where he was responsible for long-range development of new platforms for Internet services and systems.

At Intel, Vrsalovic will initially focus on technology development for Intel Online Services, Inc., the company's new Internet services hosting business. He will report to Gerry Parker, executive vice president and general manager of the company's new business group.

Intel also said it hired David Tennenhouse, 42, as vice president and director of research. Prior to joining Intel, Tennenhouse served as director of the information technology office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and was a senior research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

At Intel, Tennenhouse will assume responsibility for guiding Intel's research activities, including Intel-funded research programs conducted by universities and other outside organizations. He will also chair the Intel Research Council and report to Leslie Vadasz, senior vice president and director, Corporate Business Development.
