Thought I'd post the exerpt from the job discription that you mentioned.

>>We're VARI-L Company, a leading RF electronic component manufacturer. After many
years of serving the military/aerospace industry, we've expanded our product
line into wireless communications, and our business is going through the roof. <<

Jean-Pierre - Your English is absolument parfait , and certainly nothing to be apologizing for! You raised some excellent questions, and while I don't have the time for proper due diligence on each of my 50+ stock holdings, I have made some observations about VARL stock trading patterns that may be useful. The stock price runs up on heavy volume - as far as $14+ on two occasions in the past year - and I foolishly purchased shares during these momentum swings only to watch the price decline as volume subsided. This time, we seem to have stabilized around 10 and it would appear the stock is a genuine bargain at this price. The top and bottom line numbers are great and going forward looks even better. I think now is the time to accumulate a significant position before VARL is "discovered" by the crowd. Once it breaks through $15 I would predict a clear path to the low 20s and perhaps beyond. Also, VARL would make a tempting takeover target due to its niche position and relatively low float.

*Considering Nokia's wireless drive (see "How Nokia will Wireless the World", Wired, 09.99), I wonder if Vari-l may follow in the footsteps of RFMD...*

As I have mentioned before, industry sources confirm that NOKIA spent several days and a bundle of $$$ auditing and qualifying VARL's new production facilities. The team consisted of folks from the Dallas/Fort Worth NOKIA office as well as the home office. Evidently VARL has passed with flying colors, and I am anticipating several large orders in the first few quarters of 2000. I have been unable to confirm that there will be orders for handset components. However, judging by the time spent and the folks assigned to the VARL audit, I think we will see NOKIA show up with handset orders sooner than later.

*I don't know if RFMD VCOs duplicate those of Vari-l.*

RFMD primarily produces amplifiers, not VCOs.

*By the way, do you know where I can get some information about North America preferred or sole-source suppliers to Nokia wireless.*

As I referenced above VARL was moved from supplier status to preferred provider for NOKIA. That should get the blood moving. As for a reference, I know of no printed source.
