Oh boy - you do need a T-1 line but probably more affordable would be ISDN, xDSL or a cable modem, an Ethernet hub and a pile of cards. :-) I also hear that IBM Home Director works pretty well even with several PCs connected and it's selling at a very reasonable price.

Yes, there is one problem should you call 911 over your onephoneline connection - the caller ID they like to see at the dispatch station would show your ISP as having originated the call since it went out through their line.

Incidentally, have you looked at some of the services they're providing along with the service? Looks like they expect to get some of their profits from providing the FAX services and they're also probably getting the LD in bulk: onephoneline.net

Maybe you can buy some of Iridium's assets for cheap, and build your own home satellite network<GG>

Frank,

I've been reading your posts for 10 months now. This was by far the best. Reality.

Me, I'm still trying to figure out why Hughes DirecPC keeps having such a bad hair day, and why my neighbor's kid, who is a traffic cop in Truckee, CA thinks he can dump a 50' bus in my front yard for the winter. Oi! It's hard to escape.
