No not really. The fact that the USA created an entire economy out of the internet doesn't have much to do with the export of manufacturing in my book. These aren't the same workers.

But back to the original point, Reaganomics argued for open markets I believe. Nobody played ball with us. Did Reagan/Bush have a handle on this situation? Imo, no, not really. They believed in open markets but had no idea how to proceed when negotiating with the Asian tigers. So was this brilliance on the part of that leadership? I don't think so... anyway, I've said all I want to on this one.

Our "current" prosperity? Where is THAT with the kind of trade deficit we have? That is like saying the man who is mortgaged to the hilt is living a prosperous life- it is a SHAM.
