Have a good day Haim.

Re: "What I mean is: do you really think that CuMine can beat Athelon on ANY benchmark... even SOME benchmark... certainly not MOST..."

I think you may be in for a surprise. Maybe a BIG surprise.... But what do I know? People here claim I am lying and spreading BS. We'll know soon enough.

Haim - RE: "Regarding benchmarks, what does faster mean:

1. faster on SpecInt and SpecFP benchmarks (don't care about others)
2. faster on others (don't care about Spec)
3. faster on all or "most" of the benchmarks"

That would be interesting if "E" was faster in Spec marks but slower in many benchmarks.

Haim,

Re: "Benchmarks"

I think SPEC is a fair indicator.

I exepct specInt to be close but not specFP.

I would be shocked if Coppermine doesn't win a few benchmarks - if it wins the majority I would alsobe shocked as well - but good for Intels engineers.

AMD is shipping 700Mhz today - you can order a machine if you wish.

Forbes today metioned 750 later this month and 800Mhz in november.

If Intel does better than this thats great too- I would say kudos to intels design team.

And then the race will move early next year to what Athlon performance will be with integrated cache and maybe ddr266.

I certainly am looking forward to tomorrow.

regards,

Kash
