Company's footing seems much more stable now. Don't have names of the brokerage firms handy, but I will check.

dch, seems a number of firms agree about the prospects for VEN, at least in the shorter-term.

These firms commented on Vengold lately, sorry no link. Maybe call to speak with the analyst for a report if interested.
9/30/99 - Merrill Lynch, near-term accumulate
9/30/99 - St James Secs., raised to short-term accumulate from reduce
10/7/99 - Goepel McDermid, buy
Goepel analyst out of Vancouver and the other firms out of Toronto.

Vengold interest may also have something to do with Lihir Gold news this week. Didn't they strike some positive arrangement or refinancing as well? The Lihir project is only as strong as the sum of its parts in that respect. So if various parties continue to get their act together and POG holds up, the turnaround will continue.
