Can anyone point to a site that would list the hedging activities and forward selling activities of individual mining companies. This information would be extremely important right now. I know Barrick is hedged heavily and bellieve they are protected to a price of 388. Are there others with that kind of info. I personally wouldn't want to be long some of these stocks. Newmont does very limited forward selling and Battle Mountain will not sell more than half its forward mining capabilities.

Of course that wasn't altruism on anybody's part.. that was greed of the banks ..during that time a friend told me to buy Citicorp..she said they would never be allowed to go under..
Greenspan just helped to prolong the recession as he was bailing out the banks..The Bushes will never forget..
ps but you forgot to add "crony capitalism" and all those fat cats
who were able to add to their fortunes by buying the cream of the crop in savings and loan bailouts..

back to gold..I have been having a lot of difficulty finding commentaries in leading newspapers on golds rally.. what gives..
will they wait until it hits 500
ps a friend last week who has a trading friend on the floor told him
gold was going up 100 dollars in this move :-)
psps read that 140,000 tons of gold are estimates of above the ground gold with central bankers owning 25 percent..before I had asked who holds the rest..well..the article said most of remaining gold is in jewelry and in vaults..I just can't imagine families selling heirlooms etc ..so there doesn't appear to be those 40 year amount available..
psps my friend Bob M. said for me to watch South Africa and watch
for announcement of their cutting back on gold production..
I do hope some of the newspapers start paying closer attention
