James before defining an atheist ypo need to define God. Right now each "CHRISTIAN" has a concept of God, most varying in these concepts but most think as the all powerful creator and define as a master human who makes all things possible. Anyone with a different concept is an automatic atheist and heretic blasphemer.

"Christians" is a concept also, The idea of Jesus was God has been so brainwashed in western society the belief of any God is looked as immoral. Taking one book as truth and twisting fact to make it thus and so is idiotic and refusal to search for truth elsewhere makes one a victim of circular reasoning.

The Christian bible is not explainable though tried for 2000 years. God's favored people are a joke for morality
and example. The old testament taught in front of a child is a horrendous crime and is as filthy as playboy except for illustrations. Point out the evils God ordered and Christians have no answer so attack the informer revealing the ugliness.

Christians preach a way of life one way and live it another.
IMHO its the very thing people came here to escape.

God is an abstract and cannot be identified by other than nature and natural law. To define is impossible. Yet men continually have strife instead of lov. I expect some of these Chnristians on this forum would come to blows over their twisted beliefs if done in person.

Why did Jesus create the holy Christian Church? Why did He anoint it and say that "the gates of hell would not prevail against it"?
The Christian Church wrote the New Testament Scriptures under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Church also decided which books should be in the New Testament. When we read the New Testament today, how do we know we are reading the inspired Word of God? Who declared that these books in the New Testament are inspired by God? The Church who wrote the Scpritures under the inpsiration of the Holy Spirit also serve to interpret the scriptures for those who are sincerely seeking salvation.

How can anyone claim to be a Christian and at the same time hate and the Christian Church?

Here is an example of the Church interpreting the Scriptures for a sincere seeker of truth.

Acts 8:27-40, the eunuch was trying to read Isaiah when Philip asked him, "Do you understand what you are reading?" But he said, "Why, how can I, unless someone shows me?" Since Philip had been filled by the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:4, he was able to explain the truth of Isaiah to the eunuch.

2Pet 1:20, St. Peter said, "This then you must understand first of all, that NO PROPHECY OF SCRIPTURE IS MADE BY PRIVATE INTERPRETATION."

I do not see how Paul could have said it any plainer than he did here.

The Christian Church and its functions!

Where in the New Testament does it tell us which books are to be included in the Bible? The Bible was written by the Church under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Since the Christian Church wrote the Bible, the Church also defined which books should belong in the Bible.

The New Testament is a product of the Christian Church and the Holy Spirit. To be a Christian is to belong to the universal Christian Church.
