You know, I once knew a couple involved in what the French call a "folie a deux", a madness that needed the other person to reinforce it. They were convinced that they were above everyone else, and continually referred to most people as sheep and idiots, caught up in conventional opinion and unable to think for themselves.They were given to a denunciatory style, rarely bothered to substantiate anything they asserted, and were noted for their rudeness. In the end, it turned out that they were racists and Nazi sympathizers, who deplored Hitler's excessed but thought he was well- intentioned. Since they liked me, and I was Jewish, it took me awhile to find this out....
