Eicon Technology Corporation Names New Vice President of Marketing & Business Development OCTOBER 21, 1999 MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA--Eicon Technology, a leading worldwide provider of remote access products, today announced the appointment of Denis Pouliot as Vice President, Marketing & Business Development. Prior to joining Eicon, Mr. Pouliot, a seasoned executive, held senior marketing and sales positions with JDS FITEL, Siecor and Nortel. He most recently held the title of Vice President, Sales & Customer Service at JDS FITEL, the world's leading maker of fiberoptic equipment in phone networks. Mr. Pouliot will lead the implementation of the company's marketing strategy for its upcoming DSL product launch and expansion into emerging technology markets. Leveraging his previous experience working with large telco, system integrators and OEM customers, Mr. Pouliot will focus much of his efforts on growing Eicon's worldwide business and capturing market share in the emerging markets of DSL and embedded communications devices. He will also look to further develop and cultivate large accounts and projects, as well as strengthen Eicon's existing OEM relationships.
